For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Re: Transmission reinforcement plates, We got'em
What happened to all you guy's that wanted a plate? It seems that everyone wants parts , but when they are available, It's like a ghost town.........................
Maybe this is the reason Greg has such a bad attitude about this..................
Thank you to the few people that have purchased parts, From here on out, if you want a new part made or designed, be ready to put up your money. It take time , money and a lot of effort to get things, even simple ones, done. You guy's need to think about this when your asking for thing to be made.

Didn't see this until now, it will definitely be on 'the list' at some point. Wish i had see them when i was doing the 5th gear swap, i would have definitely picked it up (now i just don't want to pull the trans back out...).

Parts
Have you tried selling these on the GT40 site? They are always looking for ways to allow the Audi boxes to handle more torque.

Transmission reinforcement plates, We got'em
As is will they fit if a fifth gear swap is part of the plan?

Re: Transmission reinforcement plates, We got'em
They should fit without a problem, I had them cut with a little larger gear hole than the drawings originally showed. The original dimension would not clear the gears at all.
Re: Transmission reinforcement plates, We got'em

Re: Transmission reinforcement plates, We got'em
These are great plates. After i had my tail shaft housing milled to match the plate thickness, it bolted up with no problems at all. And the outside edges stay close to the actual shape of the trans axle casing so it doesnt look bulky. I put a little bit of black rustouleum paint on the outside surface of the fresh steel that was sticking out side of the case and now it looks great.

Awesome! How much did you have to pay to get the end case milled?

40.00 is what I paid. At first when talking to him he said 80.00 but it didnt take him but an hour so he dropped the price.

No, it didnt seem to be in bad shape at all. I figure with the oil in the case it would keep good.

Re: Transmission reinforcement plates, We got'em
Take alittle caution when installing the plate. I had to take it back off due to hitting the shift rods wrong and jamming the trans into two gears at once causing a shift lock. I decided to take a picture of the plate installed with out the tail housing to show it is nice. Double check all of the shift rod movement and the shafts clear the holes with minimum clearance and do not bind at all.

Good work Eric.
87-944S did you drop off the plate too? It is important to get the housing milled to the plates measurement as close as they can.
