Hey Collin, does your trans have the bacK-up light switch in the rear alloy housing?
Sure does look like a spacer the same thickness as the plate can be put between that angular contact bearing race and the synchro.

not sure where you are talking about putting a spacer. The shaft the bearing guide sits on is limited to the over side of the bearing too. You would have to circle the pic to were you are talking.

As far a the reverse light. I have two plugs that plugged into the housing if I remember correctly. I would have to go double check later when my son is sleeping.

I can now offer you a Tail housing exchange service for those of you that don't have a machinist in your pocket.
I will send you a machined tail piece with the reinforcement plate and new plug/seal for the rear end. You will have to pay a core charge up front for the tail housing or ship me yours first if your in no hurry.

I just glued mine shut with RTV, but a new seal would be the proper way to do things....

I had mine glued shoot too. I just have taken it off since then and haven't put it back on since, I still need to torque the bolt down.

I can get them, but you can order them directly from Zims. That's where I get them.
