Front A arms

Does anyone have the info from PH that was discussing the idea of tubular A arms? I would like to maybe try to build a set.
Has anyone ever built a tubular front cross member? Shouldn't be that hard and would give us the ability to not have to MOD the oil pans.

Did anyone keep the info on the RX7 arms that I started. I'm waiting to here back from a shop that has them on a CMM.
I will build billet adapters that bolt them to the 944 rear control arm locations. But you can mod up the RX7 metal rubber stay to match the 944's 68mm spreadwidth. (You can also get POLYURETHANE, I have the graphite impregnated because it machines easy) The balljoint pivot can be adapted to the 944 pivot dims when the coordinates are found.This will allow for swappable Early 944 ball joints to be installed. And here's the real kicker.... just unbolt the plate and move it to the top of the control arm (it's bolted to the bottom from factory) and you'll have a perfect 1" drop to make up for a 1" X-member drop for the V8 swap.....It's coming

check out the dimensions. The main reason why I chose this control arm to mod up for the 944 is the X-member insertion dimension.....a copy of the 944's and the fact that an adapter plate can be made to allow for early 944 bolt-on ball joints.When it's done I can literally change the arm to ball-joint plate and swap this to a late 944 car if I wanted.....

hi guys i'm a newbie living in south africa....xschop's mods are awesome' will solve my problem . however we did not get the mazda rx7 in this country so was hoping that one of you guys could source me a pair of rx7 a-arms so that i could frieght them over ...obviously all costs would be mine. i have an '88 944s that i want to put 23mm offset wheels on so i need them for all the "wrong" reasons...hope somebody can accomadate me ,thanks bruce.

I just got a set of the High Strung Chromoly Arms and they are excellent! For the cost they are hard to beat and the fabrication is very high quality. I added two tabs to mount the factory 968MO30 brake deflectors like my factory arms to maintain my brake cooling.

The modded RX7 arms fix the broken alloy arm problem, the replaceable ball joints are back, Early or Late offset are 2 bolts away, 1" Xmember drop is also 2 bolts away, and the Caster setting is correct just like the factory. Every aftermarket arm I have seen has the balljoint pin positioned at or behind Crossmember lateral centerline, and the factory 944 arms position them forward that line which affects caster if they are not positioned same as factory....FYI

Xchop, are you making these available? I guess I will double check website, but I thought I didn't see it. My front BJ is lose, which can only mean one thing.

Yes, I have them available upon request only. 2 week turnaround as I have to order the arms and Polyurethane bushings and ball joints and machine the old rubber compression bushings off and make the 7mm X-member spacers tp go with the kit. Just PM me

Can't post a price here, but they are $125 less than the Chr-moly ones that are not adjustable and hard jointed.

You will also recieve a new set of sway bar adapters, you will have to thread your stock sway links down to the base with M10x1.5

wouldnt you still have an issue with the steering rack on a tubular crossmember for oil pan clearance the tubular a arms is a good idea i wouldnt mid having sme for my project .

Replaceable ball joints have been available for the early 944 for a while...

Bump-steer galore, unless you use XS part numbers 2 and 3 (Bump-Steer Kit and extended steering shaft).

Sounds like a cover-up, or a forced sale if you ask me.
No other arms require so many "extra" parts to function properly.

...You don't even realize what you just said. If the factory position was wrong, and the aftermarket versions re-align caster angles, what argument is left? Is caster adjustable with the modified RX7 arms? Dang, guess you don't need to change it after it's "perfect"...

Prove these arms with some real-world use and testing, and if I'm FOS, I'll admit it.
