I ran a hose from the driver rear to the back of the intake manifold where the vaccum line is and capped all the passenger and throttle body vaccums and everything ran fine for me on my '01

Thanks Collin another good call. I ran it like that and installed PCV1009.... It is the equivalent of what GM came up for the recall on the LS engines consuming too much oil.....Basically a mini "catch can" from what I can see as it is a hollow PCV (no check ball & spring to get clogged) with only a 0.100" hole in the bottom that doesn't let much oil splash/pass thru like the old design....

Just re-used the 14-pin attachment point as a mounting base for the driver's side.....And Fan relays were so convenient to splice into factory harness fan (+) leads....RED/blk & BLACK/red.....

Cut the black tape off of the relay wires that you have right up next to the relay it's self. As thing heat up the tape will start to change shape( shrink) and it will pull the connector off , maybe not now , but when you least need it to.........

Will do. I have like 100 rolls of electrical tape. I tend to go overboard

I'm still dealing with my TTwist II's acting stupid.....The hub machining on the wheel itself interferes with the wheel hub dust cap..... It's hard to get an 18" rim chucked up on the lathe especially with new rubber instaled....

Giving the caps the smackdown..... First welded the inner cap rim in three 1" draws and siliconed the inner ridge because when I lathed off the cap I don't want to get hit since it is hydroformed. So the edge that interferes with the Rim inner machining is gone. I will weld a large flat nut to screw in a slide hammer for removal....

Has someone ran into having to put on an oil filter adapter with the oil bung M20 x 1.5. If so what filter did you go with for the V8 swap. As I understand oil filters need to match some pressure bypass mechanism within the filters?

This M20 x 1.5 threaded filter is dimensionally identical to the fram PH8A except it has 12 PSi relief valve....
Question is the PH8A is 8-10 PSi.......is the extra 2 PSi going to be a problem in running this with the 5.3 V8?

Looks good! I feel bad that I can't help you too much, considering you've been helpful to me. You've got lots of great info up when it comes time to do the fuel and wiring!

What are those front control arms you're using? You can seem em in the picture of your front calipers.

I bought Wix #51324 after finding a cross reference for Fram #2921....
It is actually 3/4" shorter than the 2921 which may come in handy.

I do have a question. Is it O.K. to mount the adapter and filter up-side-down? There is a blow back preventer on the filter....The reason I want to make it up-side-down is the adapter I bought has 1/4 NPT ports and the aftermarket Oil pressure gauge comes with a 1/4 NPT pressure sensor and I need to mount the filter upside down to put the sender on underneath the car off the frame rail....

And I am going to machine an adapter M12 x 1.5 (LS/truck water temp. sensor thread pitch) to 1/4 NPT aftermarket Temp sensor...... and stick it in the passenger rear head.....

Awww man, Greg! Sorry to hear you're in that situation again. You've really poured some hard work into this whole operation. It's tough to make something like this into a full-time gig. Wish i were well-enough off to just send you some cash, that would be nice for both of us!

Does anyone make a block off plate for the change holder thingy below the radio that is set up for 2" gauges?

Not to be smart, but it looks like Lindsey Racing is right in your back yard. I thought every '44 owner knows who they are.

They make gauge plates in a lot of different configurations and will drill custom ones as well.

I meant a plastic snap in one....that has the side fastener prongs like the factory holder on the sides.....

I had read that someone had to drill out the adapter Autometer makes for the LS metric thread coolant port to aftermarket temp gauges......I bought it thinking I would have to drill it for my nice digital temp gauge or lathe the sender down as I have done before.....

Luck has it that Glow-Shift has their temp sender already lathed down (sender pic is of 1/4" dia.).... no modding required

Big question...how close is too close for the driver's side exhaust collector to be near the stainless braided oil relocation lines?

I'm gonna drive it to the shop tomorrow and have my 2.5" Maganaflow installed, I may have them cut and reweld the collector down pipe a little further away from the lines as they sit 1.5" away from the exhaust pipe...

I think mine are about 1" away, i wouldn't want them much closer. You could put a heat blanket on them (and/or the headers) to keep them extra safe. Having one of them blow could be disastrous!

What else are you doing for guages?

Just the Digital LED water and oil pressure gauges and will hook up the factory tach, that's it.
I did get rid of the hood latch and made a trick hood pin set-up, I didn't like the keyed hood pins after all and installed the old skool pull pins....love em.... Plus the keyed pins require the sheet metal under the hood to take a lot of fabbing because of the locknut. The pull pins just require drilling straight thru. I will post a diagram of a simple adjustable bracket that can use any of the aftermarket pins....
