For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Re: New use for old hood hinges!
would this new hood open in the normal fashion? Allowing easy acces to a filter placed in front of the radiator.
Re: New use for old hood hinges!
For normal cars , yes it would open just like the factory hood. I have not decided what would be the best hood latch just yet. Probably just pins. A vent could easily be modded in, post some pictures of that POC that you have. I'd like to see it, or better yet send it to me and I'll make it better
Re: New use for old hood hinges!
Seriously? I still have it in my office. I was getting ready to return it to D9. It is a pain in the ass because they are in in Switzerland. I really like the look of thier vented panel. It really matches the lines of the turbo nose nicely. BUT it is incredibly thin and the fibergalss work is substandard with the trim cut away complely. Additionally, they have not provided any mounting points. I paid a small fortune for this thing!
I have no problem sending this to you but I do need to send it back to them for refund. OR... You can keep it if you can send me one back in trade??
Here is what thiers looks like:

Aerocatch latches man! I'm surprised they haven't caught on yet. I love them on my car. I can lock them to keep strangers from looking under the hood when I'm not around, they're more "aerodynamic" and most of all, most aesthetically pleasing (imo).

What do you mean? " Does it Clear the front bumper" It is made from the original hood and the front valance. It has nothing to do with the bumper area.....
Re: New use for old hood hinges!
what i'm seeing and talking about is it looks like the hood and the header panel are now all one piece . if it is the case ? if so becouse you now have the hood opening in the other direction will or does the header / hood hit the front bumper cover ?

Re: New use for old hood hinges!
Just saw the pictures on this Eric, man that is a very slick idea! Any concerns about the piece that extend under the headlight not attaching to the body near the fender? I was thinking of vibrations there at high speed. You have me thinking evil thoughts involving cutoff wheels and a mig welder!

Not dead, just idle. Moved to the new shop and haven't had time for projects. Just trying to get things in the shop moving along.
Re: New use for old hood hinges!
I know you are working on other things in your shop and not keeping up on this thread much. I did have a question for you on the hinges. How did you go about connecting the brackets to the hood? did you mig weld, steel glue, or what?
I am in the process of replicating a setup for my hood and am not sure what to do.

ok, so you used the adhesive to stick the brackets in place and tack welded around it?
