HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

this first pic is a bunch of fuses strung together and I don’t know or understand why. The second pic is the gm fuel pump relay and my question is, is this the green wire that goes all the way back to the fuel pump that triggers it to turn on and off? If not can you identify what each wire is and what it goes to? I’m replacing my fuel pump with a much bigger more robust pump and I’m confused by the wiring. It’s not my forte at all. It scares the hell out of me because I burned a wiring harness in an old Daytona I had to a crisp, and that was the last time I ever messed with wiring.

The block of fuses is probably for the ecu / injectors ect.
The wire that triggers your fuel pump *relay* is coming from the ecu. You want that wire for your new fuel pump relay (I'm assuming that's what your doing). Look at the wiring diagram for your specific ecu and see what wire is for the fuel pump. Run some thick wire for that new fuel pump!

So do I no longer use the gm relay? I got a new Aeromotive wiring kit, and it has its own relay. I know I’m wiring one to battery ground and a 10 gauge to battery power, and one of the thin black wires to ignition on and then the other thin black wire to low side computer? but where does the Chevy relay fit in?

You do not need to wire the relay to ignition. Ecu controls the relay. You want to wire 85 terminal to ecu signal, 86 terminal to ground. Then the load terminal 30 to battery through a fuse and load terminal 87 to your fuel pump. Then obviously ground the fuel pump and you are done.
