For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

I was adjusting my clutch and thought it was a blessing issue. Found that my clutch had broken free. The freeway was week. How have you guys had this. How have you corrected it...I see a few different options for braces.

Thanks

where did it break? do you have any pictures of it?

there are some firewall plates out there of various designs. only944.com has one that goes around the brake and clutch hole, but depending on how yours broke it may not help your problem.

I don't have a picture but it's right by the bolt to the right and the wiring harness. Since this happened I have been looking and it seems to be a common problem. Trying to figure out the best way to reinforce it..I did not want to have to take off the brake booster

I got the drawings for the plate that includes the master and the clutch from a member on our site. Solves all issues.

If you don't want to remove the master, then you may be able to make a stiffener that you can bolt on around the broken spot. Then make a support bar to mount to your brake booster and to the strut tower to prevent the firewall from moving again.
