HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Re: Ford Hydroboost to Porsche 951 Master Cylinder Adapter
951 Adapter blocks are going out Thursday or Friday
I have sent everyone with a deposit their final payment invoice.
As soon as the blocks hit the shop, they will be shipped out and you should see a tracking number.

Received and paid the final invoice. Looking forward to having this in my hands, I've already picked up a 951 MC complete with reservoir and cap.

Porsche .v. Ford
I guess you guys are using stock Porsche brakes as I doubt the 951 MC will be man enough to handle uprated calipers like the Xschop LS430/Maxda set up.
If you study the Ford Mustang installation it uses a proportioning block/valve which which works well with the LS430/Mazda calipers.
Not wishing to start a p---ing contest, just my two cents worth from personal experience.
Must do a cost comparison P .v. F

Re: Ford Hydroboost to Porsche 951 Master Cylinder Adapter
Kinda doubt the LS430 brakes are bigger than my front Big Red/Rear Turbo S setup...

Re: Ford Hydroboost to Porsche 951 Master Cylinder Adapter
Are you guys using the proportioning block? Im running the Giant Wilwoods and not using it. Did I mess up? Also plan on running the Boxster ABS at some point soon.

Actually, from a fluid volume perspective, The LS430/RX7 combination is significantly larger. Especially the rear.docwyte wrote:Kinda doubt the LS430 brakes are bigger than my front Big Red/Rear Turbo S setup...

Re: Ford Hydroboost to Porsche 951 Master Cylinder Adapter
Didn't know that. However the stock 951 MC was designed with the 951 brakes in mind, it pushes more than enough fluid for my current setup of Bid Red's/951S rears.
It'll give me proper pedal stroke and brake bias, so that's a WIN in my book...

Re: Ford Hydroboost to Porsche 951 Master Cylinder Adapter
Got the plate today, looks very well machined.
I do have one question though, how do you clock the plate? I assume the two threaded holes are where the 951 MC is supposed to mount to the plate, then you use to two counter sunk holes to mount it to the hydroboost?
I can't seem to clock it to get the holes to line up with my 951 MC, the reservoir is in the way...

Re: Ford Hydroboost to Porsche 951 Master Cylinder Adapter
I'm planning on running Wilwood's front and back. I've got the six pots on the front and the four pot's for the rear. Now here is the fun part. I plan to use the MC from the 95 928 GTS (pn 928 355 011 24). It had the big brake set up from the factory. Plus, it should bolt right up. Just throwing it out there.

Re: Ford Hydroboost to Porsche 951 Master Cylinder Adapter
Docwyte, what reservoir are you using? If you look at Vorsche944s pic on p2 his reservoir does not extend back past the mounting point of the master cylinder, mine is the same way.

LOL, sometimes I'm such a idiot. I had removed the reservoir to clean it and put it back on the wrong way. I just flipped it around and all is well...

Re: Ford Hydroboost to Porsche 951 Master Cylinder Adapter
The 928 GTS/S4 MC has the same bore dimensions as the 951/944s MC, 23.8mm front and 20.6mm rear, main difference being 2 ports on the 928 MC vs 3 on the 944.RS Technic wrote:I'm planning on running Wilwood's front and back. IIRC the Ford MC has a 25.4mm piston for both front and rear circuits; that is likely why it doesn't play well with the stock porsche/Brembo setup.
