For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Shim gone cross member sitting in factory location . No bump steer issues now. I see good forward motion now. I can pull the fire wall plate now. Weld it up and that's done.

Started the mods needed for my fans. Over 4000 cfm of sucking power. I am going to do some sort of exit out through the hood.

Continued to work on fans. Just about ready for final finishing. A bit of work but worth it in my opinion.

Well the work continues on the fans.bottom unit ready. Need about a hour and the top will be done. Do a little fill and sand then paint. I am going to run a rubber gasket around the bottom. This will insure a good seal. Should work well. I will have to have some aluminum tabs welled to the bottom and top to hold in place.

Re: New convert under way
I purchased both on ebay. The rad is a 2 row aluminum unit direct fit 944 turbo style. They say 30 percent better cooling than a stock turbo unit. The fans are supposed to be 2750 cfm each. They are a universal fit. When a bot the fans I'd mis measured hence the mods. At the end of the day with the mods it should work very well. I am going to box in the nose so it is dedicated air flow to the rad.I am going to due some sort of shut off the back up to a hood opening at the front so all the hot air goes directly to the out side. I can did up the companies I purchased both from if you want. By the time the smoke clears I will be into the complete unit for under 500 Canadian. Not so bad.

Re: New convert under way
So besides running factory gas tank what are the options members have done. My metal tank mounts different from the plastic. Anyone built a new gas tank? Pushed it forward? My old tank is full of rust and i don't want to waiste money cleaning to find out it will not work. Does anyone have a good pic as to how the plastic tank mounts?

Re: New convert under way
I have done some reading and i am going to try the white vinegar solution trick. They say this works really well for rust removal. They also say to throw nuts in to help break off debris when you shake the hell out of it, will keep you posted.

Re: New convert under way
I had a motorcycle tank with rust issues. I used electrolysis to remove the rust, then I used a coating called Red Kote to coat the inside of the tank. Many of the older coatings do not withstand the 10-15% ethanol we have in gas now, Red Kote does though.

Re: New convert under way
Thank you superman22x. What I have done so far was actually banged the tank all over with my hand and I was surprised by how much rust came out. I then used compressed air and that did a pretty good job of cleaning the tank for now. After a close inspection I think the tank can be dipped hot tanked and coated and be good to go. I have a local shop that does this. So I am going to take it down and see what they say.
