HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Looks Great! Love lots of rubber! Did you actually find 5x130 bolt pattern or did you use adapters/changed the hubs?

Re: Skywalker001 Build - Got my new shoes
@Hotshoe - Thanks for the compliment! Trying to get final color on by Saturday.
Here are the specs on the rims:
Front - WORK MEISTERS S1 3P 18X11 -8
Rear - WORK MEISTER S1 3P 18X12 -20
Just a warning! The front 18s at this size do rub the wheel well about a quarter turn before lock. Don't know if its that much of an issue yet.....

@Luke - Thanks for the compliments! The wheels are custom made with that lug pattern - for the price I paid, they'd better fit without adapters!

Re: Skywalker001 Build - Got my new shoes
Well.....what color!?! Im thinking, with those rims and that body...should be guards red!
If you have a manual rack (and maybe with the PS rack) you can adjust the locks on the output shafts of the rack to stop before rubbing. My manual rack has one on each side. Not sure if you can do this but may be worth looking into. .....Or, cut up the spot its rubbing on!

Re: Skywalker001 Build - Got my new shoes
Sorry 944-LT1, for some reason I have forgotten how to quote. Thanks for the information on the locks - I was thinking I could adjust camber and also take care of the issue, but the solution you provide is probably the better one. As for color, you'll have to wait with the rest of the world - but rest assured, it will be something that will definitely make the car stand out (at least in my opinion )

Re: Skywalker001 Build - Got my new shoes
Are you at all worried about the transaxle or the axles with all that yummy power and rubber? You're using an NA tranny, right? Maybe I'm recalling the wrong car, but I thought that's what you said you were running in a previous thread.

Re: Skywalker001 Build - Got my new shoes
Yes, I am worried.....to a degree. I'm not planning on launching alot (initially), so the transaxle should be okay. After I get some seat time in the car, I plan on replacing the heads/cam - at that time, I think I'll start looking at a new rear end.

Pat, that will dominate the Castrol Showdown this time, no doubt...Grady wrote:"Good Goobledey Goop, Fred!"

Re: Skywalker001 Build - Got my new shoes
Thanks! While I was trailering it back, I got some pretty hard stares - the desired effect!!
It's missing the Grand Sport stripes, but I will take care of that when I get back from my business trip. All I know is I couldn't have gotten this far without the support from the guys on this board!
I don't know if they're have the Castrol Challenge this year - but I am seriously considering Bullrun.

I think I just wet myself.
Not normally a fan of the big pedestal mounted wings, but with the rest of the car, by god it works.

Re: Skywalker001 Build - Got my new shoes
Luke/MN944S - Thanks for the feedback! With the wing, I was afraid of coming of too ricer'ish. But with the satin black paint and the large offsets, the wing gives a certain level of aggressiveness to the rest of the car (and it's functional too !). I think had I stayed with the Millennium Yellow with the new hatch, I would have looked like a rolling lemon.

what was your reason for going with the notch back instead of the stock fast back kinda look?

Re: Skywalker001 Build - Got my new shoes
Was looking for something different, plus all of that glass back there - I really didn't like it. Lesson learned though through the process of buying body parts: Don't buy cheap! While the "plan A" (gt-racing.com) hatch was significantly cheaper (and lower quality), the one you see now (allporscheracing.com) was originally my first choice - but I said it was too expensive.
