For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Looking for a 968 LS swapped car
Hi All,
I am new to this forum and new to the 968. I'm looking for a completed ls1 swapped 968. Figured this is a good place to start. I'm located in Los Angeles. Thanks in advance.

I've only seen 2 ls swapped 968's. One was somewhere in Europe, and the other was a race car only.

Curious
Is this just not done cause it's that much harder to swap for some reason compared to a 944 or mainly just cause the 968's are such fewer and far between than all the years of 944's combined?

Re: Looking for a 968 LS swapped car
I have one but it's not for sale.
I didn't do the work and I'm not a mechanic but I can tell you the 968 LS1 swap is more challenging than the 944 due to the lower hood slope. Changes to the intake & radiator are required, and the headers have to be modified to clear the steering rack. Header/exhaust routing is also a big challenge. There are probably lots of other issues I'm forgetting at the moment.
My mechanic at the time actually retired when my car was ~80% done and I suspect the challenges with my car may have been part of his decision :-) . I also decided to switch out the 6-speed 968 transaxle for a 951s AOR, including custom 3-4-5th gears, which brought its own set of issues (and like all LS1 swaps, the gearing is still "wrong").
