HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Caliper Adapters by Rennline
Rennline indicates that the below adapter will work on my 1989 NA. But looking at the attachment it says it will only work on 951, 944 S2s & 968. Anyone have experience with these adapters? They look like a nice design for the BIG REDS, but only if they fit my 1989 NA.
Thanks all.

I'm in the same boat. Spoke to them last week and they confirmed that these do not fit 89 944 NA. There is a guy in Canada that makes them though. His site is https://vdubengineering.com. I spoke to owner and he said he can make whatever adaptors are needed. About to have him create some adaptors for my 89 N/A to accept Boxster non S calipers.

Great news and thanks for the lead. Will definitely reach out to them. Curious to know why you are looking for brackets for boxter calipers and not say 996 calipers? I am assuming rotors remain the same?

I went down the rabbit hole chasing 986 calipers. I purchased a set only to discover that I purchased Boxster as opposed to Boxster S. After paying 600 bucks for the full set, did not want to start over again. Figured I could make these work as they are huge 4 piston and would most likely serve me well unless I hear otherwise. Lol

I ran Boxster (non S) calipers on an A4 a few years ago. Worked better than the original brakes but still faded badly at the track. Note the Boxster uses 24mm thick rotors. The 944 Turbo and Boxster S are 28mm thick and the BigRed 32mm.
My advice is to get proper 944 Turbo spindles and calipers, forget all this adapter stuff.
