The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

C5 Brake Caliper Adaptors

Post  Jchard944 on Mon Nov 28, 2016 2:59 pm

When researching a while back I could have sworn I came across someone building an adaptor for C5 Brake Calipers may have been dreaming. Regardless with my setup I will be using the C5 Brake Calipers in the rear as I am using the complete rear subframe from a C5 Z06. I also have a set of C5 front calipers as well and I wanted to use them up front if possible.

I was going to have the company building my car see if they could make an adaptors to fit on the 83 front end but I wanted to reach out here first to see if there was any drawings, pictures, etc.

Any chance you have also been doing research on the norotors.com forums? Second and third generation RX-7s frequently use Corvette calipers as upgrades, and seem to recall drawings being available for adapters. Interestingly 2nd generation RX-7s can use an adapter to fit C5 calipers combined with Ford Mustang rotors on their OEM hubs for a significant brake upgrade. I have a friend who was doing an RX-7 LSx swap.

Have never been on their forum but I will check it out and see what they look like. May help get me a little close to figuring out how to get these on the front of the car. Thanks for the heads up.

Ahhhhhh I knew I wasn't going crazy. I will be using C5 Z06 Brakes from an 04 Z06. This helps a lot though with some of the trouble I will have to account for.

Thanks for sending it over.
