For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Brake booster relocation
I was just wondering if anyone here has tried to do a 90 degree under dash brake booster setup to keep the factory brakes? I’m in the planning stage of my swap and want to retain the factory brakes. So I’m thinking of way to keep it. I see they make the bracket to mount the brake boosters and master cylinder sideways under the dash for older cars. So I’m thinking maybe a universal bracket and then see if I can make room to have the booster and master squeeze under there. Kinda interested if anyone else has attempted it or any other feed back.

Re: Brake booster relocation
There's pretty much zero room under a 944 dash. Porsche fills them full.

Ok, I have read that there is little room under there. I may have to take a look and see if there is thing under there I can relocate.

Re: Brake booster relocation
Not worth it... stick a mustang hydroboost or a dual master cylinder in there and be done!

Unless you are building a race car or don't want ac and heat, there isn't any possibility of relocating anything inside the dash. Even if you did remove the ac box, you'd have no way of bleeding the brakes without removing the dash every time.

brake servo relocation
Hi, Despite what the others are saying here I have two servos under the dash where the glove box was. They work fine and negate the need for hydroboost especially if you don't have power steering.
Note that the car is the 951 1989 model and RH drive.
Let me know if you want photos.

Re: Brake booster relocation
Would like to see photos. I don’t have power steering and don’t want to add it. Also do not want manual brakes either lol. So just looking to see other options were I can keep a vacuum booster or possible electric.

Re: Brake booster relocation
Just because you don't have power steering doesn't mean you can't have hydroboost.
