The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

bmw hydro boost bomb "blew"
i am running an ls1 with stock pump with the bmw hydro boost set up, and i just got the car fired up for the first time today. first start up was for about a minute and all was well i didnt touch the therottle just let it idle, the next start up i reved it up a bit and after a few revs it started making funny sounds and out of a valve pointed down on the bomb shot out a punch of very frothy atf, i looked in the resiviour and it was also very frothy. would anyone know what would cause this?

frothy is heat or air. Was the part that blew out tightened all the way?

Its actually the accumulator. It sounds like it isn't sealing. Is there an o ring?

The green that you can see in the picture is an o ring, it is not really doing anything at all its just sitting there

That looks like where the pressure line to the rack is supposed to go.

I have checked and rechecked my routing and i have it correct, the area where it is leaking has nothing to attach a line to.

I checked mine and it feels like there is a cap of some sort in the center of the place yours is leaking.
I can't see mine the way its mounted but if you still need I will stick my phone in to get a picture of it later today. Your valve body willl need service or replacement at the least.

If the ATF is coming out of the area marked by the number 5 in that diagram, your diaphragm might have failed. When the diaphragm fails ATF will fill this area; it could leak from the Nitrogen fill port?
If the failure happened suddenly the Nitrogen would mix and aerate the ATF.
Start the car, let it idle for 10 seconds, shut the car down, pump the brakes....the accumulator, when functioning correctly, should afford you 8-10 pumps and then become a hard peddle.

When i hit the brake petal you can hear air being pumped out of the accumulator.

That part of the regulator is suppose to be covered. There is a spring and spool valve under there. You probably need another regulator. A new one is insanely priced so I would get a used one.

Bummer that happened, definitely need a replacement regulator. I am pretty sure the part number is this 34-33-1-153-303-BOE. Cheapest (not used) is what I saw here (almost 5 bills, most other places are 800) [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
There are plenty of BMW dismantlers out there, I only saw a complete sytem on eekbay for $799, not exactly attreactive. These come up frequently there if you are patient. Good luck with the search.
