HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Rob, once everything is sitting permanent, i would like a set of the chrome moly ones you make. I have the CV's from EMPI etc. I just need to be able to get the final length for them. Bin busy with family stuff, but getting back at it.

Re: New convert under way
I did some work with the Piranha Brothers and they stabbed the C5 trans in a 928 and it all clears except the rear weissach (SIC) member needs to be modded. Got me thinking about my next build.

Rob, what are you thinking, maybe a 928 conversion in the future or the 944 with the complete vette drive line.

Re: New convert under way
The 928 tunnel is bigger, therefore the Vette TT fits and the rear area needs a small hammer job and the axles are 930 cv's so that's a no brainer. The Shifter Lines up perfectly with the factory shifter location. The 928 has a double wishbone susp. too.
BTW, I see you got the rear tunnel clearanced LOL
Doug and Dinsdale made history with this set-up.....Factory 928 Dual Clutch system retained too...

Well took the plunge and ordered the rear cage section. Time to get this project back on track. I will post some pics once the cage etc. is finalized. My only issue at this point is the rear sway bar. I have started looking at some custom made units that will use the factory mounts.more to come.

Just an update the last piece of the puzzle has finally been shipped. The new cage is to arrive on the 7th or 8th. Total weight for the cage unit is 72 pounds. This will finally allow some serious progress.

Well made it to the US and picked up the main section of the cage. I have it temped in place. Another fine product by Hanksville hot rod. Once i have it completely tacked in place, i will post some pics. This will finally allow me to make some progress in the right direction.

Well as you can see some progress. I need to make a few adjustments, but all and all fits really clean. You can see where it ties in to the cross member for max support. i can now start the final fitment, and let the welding begin. I will still be able to run the factory interior, where i want. This should offer some good support and side impact strength. will keep you all posted.

Re: New convert under way
You will need the Fbody alternator bracket and ac bracket as well as harmonic balancer , also the water pump. What did the LS3 come out of? you might check the dimensions on the balancer and water pump. If it came from a new camaro you may be able to use them as well as the other brackets.

motor is a scam
Well, kinda crapy that my motor turned out to be a scam. I am now in the process with Paypal to get my cash back, i have to waite 8 more days for it to be resolved. On the bright side i found one with under 1600 km out of a brand new camaro. MTI stage 3 cam, fancy double springs etc. I would need to get a manafold and a few things for this one but not the end of the world. All i can say is thankfuly i paid with Paypal and i am protected. Watch out for deer_us on ebay, just a scam artist. He also had an LS7 he was pedling.

Well its a done deal finally. Just purchased an LS3.This one is not a scam. Its from corvettes of Manchester, in New york. It has 20K on the rotating assemblies, and everything else is new from heads to pan. He also has a guy that does free standing wiring harness, cant wait to couple this to my Z06 6 speed trans and set in place on the mounts from Eric ( high quality product by the way ). will take some picks when they are mated.getting down to the skinny of the parts i need, just a few more items to go. Will have to total up the cost of this build to c where i am at one of these days. My guess right now with the body parts included about 15k ( dont tell my wife). has anyone dynoed one with the lS3?

I like the idea of the hatch and the way it looks with this body style! Absolutely thought outside the box on this one.
