The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Turn one power steering pump.
I am using a Turn One LS1 PS pump, in talking to their tech guru he advised that I check with other users what orifice size they used and whether they used a cooler.
1. What Orifice size (in the outlet fitting) is realistic for road use?
2. Is it necessary to use the cooler array for road use?
Thanks, Mike

Re: Turn one power steering pump.
I'm using a cooler, not sure what orifice size. I just told him I was using it with the 944 rack and he did his thing.
I wouldn't run this without a cooler, but I'm also running hydroboost brakes and track the car regularly.

Re: Turn one power steering pump.
funny, when I spoke with them before buying mine, I was told that the unit they are selling as the "944" pump was based on the specifications of a 944 conversionist (TonyG I think). I was told that they had no idea what the pressure needed to be and did not seem too concerned about figureing it out.

I have the Turn 1, Hydroboost, PS Rack, filter and run with a cooler. I run street. I do not know what the orafice is.
I concur with DocW. Run it with a cooler.

PS Pump
The Guru suggests using the smallest orifice and test drive, if there is any hesitation of "hanging" of the steering then increase the orifice for more flow.
Anybody experienced the hesitation?

I got the first turn one pump and worked with them on the pump specs. They always forget when a Porsche guy calls! Tell Jeff, I think thats the owner, to look up the specs on LUDINGTON. I'm going on three years with mine. A little noisy but it works great.
