HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Re: Ford Hydroboost to Porsche 951 Master Cylinder Adapter
Maybe if the title of the thread wasn't Hydro-boost Mount Plate it would garner more interest.

Got my deposit invoice and paid.
I agree, you should start a new thread Kent, with the proper title, description of the product, pictures etc. Will garner much more interest then having it here...

Re: Ford Hydroboost to Porsche 951 Master Cylinder Adapter
What is the overall length of the hydroboost unit / 944 master cylinder once installed compared to the hydroboost / Ford master cylinder?
Just curious, i had to space my strut tower brace forward about 1/2" to clear the reservoir on the Ford Master. Depending how far this sticks out i might need to relocate another one of my ignition coils. Not a huge deal, but the car works well right now so ill probably just leave it alone!
Unsure right now if i will buy one, but its a good solution to one of the main gripes i had with the Ford hydroboost setup. The other one is just how much of a PITA it was to get the hydroboost unit mounted .

Did the elevated relocation mount for the coil packs clear the hydroboost?

Re: Ford Hydroboost to Porsche 951 Master Cylinder Adapter
Did some measuring, the legnth of the ford hydroboost, adapter, and porsche master combined
is approx 13.75 inches, measured from the surface of my firewall mounting plate.
As I said earlier in the thread I don't know if there differences in hydro boosts for different year
or model fords, but the pushrod of my hydroboost measures 1.182 inches from surface that
the adapter will bolt to.

Re: Ford Hydroboost to Porsche 951 Master Cylinder Adapter
Anthropraxis, the elevated coil pack brackets clear the hydroboost no sweat. Makes for a nice, clean install.
How quickly can we get these in our hands? I'd love to have the shop install it while they have my car for other work. They'll probably have my car another 3-4 weeks...

Does using this adapter mean you can also keep the stock 944 clutch master cylinder?

Adapter Drawings
Hi All,
Since there has been renewed interest in the adapters I designed and made a while back - I have been contacted by a few folks offline - I thought I would create some simple PDFs and share.
Please see my link below.
Since these were designed based on my car and the Hydroboost parts i had in hand, you may have to do a little cutting and or filing to get a suitable fit on your car.
Also, I used 4 press-in captive studs to attach the 944 hydroboost firewall plate to Mustang hydroboost plate, PEM part number HFH-0616-16Z1. These can be seen in the 3D Assembly PDF.
These captive head fasteners have to be pressed in with a very high tonnage press, I used a 1000 tonne unit. You may want to consider another solution, if you don't have access to a high tonnage press. The captive head fasteners allowed the firewall plate to sit flush against the fire wall. The firewall plate was 3/8" thick.
Since these components are to be used in a critical safety system it is important that you select the correct materials. Use at your own risk.

I'd like one of these adapters too. Not the firewall plates, just the billet master cylinder adapter.
Thanks,
Rich

To be certain you're in on this I think the instructions were to e-mail Admin with a request and he would then send a Paypal invoice. Simply posting on this thread won't get a response. I emailed Admin, received my invoice and paid a deposit over a week ago.

Re: Ford Hydroboost to Porsche 951 Master Cylinder Adapter
Hey guys,
a couple of updates.
I think I have sent everyone who has emailed me for a deposit a PayPal Invoice. Email and let me know if I missed anyone. Posting a need here and not emailing me will not work. Sorry if I missed anyone.
Talked to the fabricator and we are looking at late next week or early the next. Will keep you updated.
Kevin - did I get you an invoice. It is hard sometimes to match emails to forum names. Want to make sure you are covered.
We are 6 units so far.

Sweet! Thanks Kent! Very much looking forward to getting this. (Not that you couldn't tell or anything)
This is will take care of one of the last things I disliked about the swap, the brake bias and pedal throw...
