HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Ford Hydroboost to Porsche 951 Master Cylinder Adapter
Also saw someone had made an adapter piece to use the stock 951 MC with the ford hydroboost. Is anyone making those at all?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Oh man, there's an adapter available to run the porsche MC with the Ford hydroboost? Where do I get one?

Looks like 948 had one made, but in another post said he didn't have any interest in having a run done. Appears he made a new push rod as well?

Re: Ford Hydroboost to Porsche 951 Master Cylinder Adapter
I had the adapter to use porsche master to ford hydro boost made by my fab guy.
He just looked at the pics of 948's adapter and did some measuring.
We used the ford push rod that comes with hydro boost.
Dont know if there different legnth rods on different booster units.
My hydro boost unit is the one that has the mount plate with the angle built in.
It took two trys, first one wasn't thick enough, but the second one works perfectly.
If enough people want one I'm sure he would do a run of them.
I'll check on the price.
Let me know who wants one, probably need to do at least 5.
The only drawback is it moves the master farther forwarg and up a little.
can't really use a tower brace, and resevoir cap is very close to hood.
Haven't had any isssues with mine.
Having stock bias with turbo brakes is nice.
Let me know.

Re: Ford Hydroboost to Porsche 951 Master Cylinder Adapter
Just an FYI - Texas Performance sells Hydro boost plate for the Ford Booster with the Ford Master cylinder. Been selling them for 8 years or so. No interference with the strut tower or the master cylinder cap and the hood.
Also, why buy an adapter to put the Porsche master cylinder on the ford unit. Not sure the problem that is being solved here. Can u enlighten me?

Are the hydroboost plates listed on TPC's website? I can't find them? What do you sell them for?

To keep the factory front/rear brake bias. Probably, a bigger issues on the track than the street. Maybe a new product for you, along with A/C lines? Hint, hint. It's hot as hell here.

Re: Ford Hydroboost to Porsche 951 Master Cylinder Adapter
Kent, the Ford master cylinder has the wrong sized pistons in it for the 951 brake bias. It really throws the brake bias off significantly, which you can immediately feel at the track.
I'm running a Tilton adjustable proportioning valve to counteract that, but I'd much rather just use the factory Porsche master cylinder.
Please make the adapters, I'll definitely buy one.

Re: Ford Hydroboost to Porsche 951 Master Cylinder Adapter
The Ford Mustang master cylinder bore is 1", while the stock 944 is around .75"
This reduces the stroke of the brake pedal quite a bit which makes the brake pedal extremely sensitive. To give an example; full stroke (meaning 100% brake pressure) with the 944 is say 2-3" of pedal travel. Full brake with the Ford master is probably 1". Just arbitrary numbers just to give you an idea. I have gotten used to it, but when letting other people drive the car the first few stops from them will put you through the windshield! The Ford hydroboost works really well though; an adapter to run the hydroboost unit with the stock master cylinder would be a great setup i think.

Re: Ford Hydroboost to Porsche 951 Master Cylinder Adapter
The difficulty in modulating the pedal also makes it hard to avoid the "Ice Mode" on the Boxster ABS too. With a longer pedal stroke and the proper bias from the 951 MC, that would make it much better.

Re: Ford Hydroboost to Porsche 951 Master Cylinder Adapter
The guys said it all. On the track, having the proper bias for the Porsche brakes would be much more ideal.
I'd be in for an adapter as well if someone can make them.

Re: Ford Hydroboost to Porsche 951 Master Cylinder Adapter
Made it by machine shop, Eric, the guy who runs fab shop, will do a run of 5 for 265.00 each.
This includes material water jet and mill time, any hand finish out, shipping and paypal fees.
Parts are about 3 weeks out. If there is sufficient interest to make 10 before he starts run
he will drop price to 240.00 each. The part is made of steel. Will have the holes for master
cylinder tapped. I removed the studs on the booster and used bolts and nuts to mount adapter
to booster. There is no warranty or guarantee expressed or implied.
As I said before we used the push rod that is on the booster, I do not know if there is any difference
in push rod legnth between different boosters for different year model or model of ford vehicles.
I'm pretty sure my booster was from 01 to 04 mustang with mount plate that is on an angle.
I am going to remove adapter from my car for Eric to measure before he starts and will measure the pushrod legnth and post it. I'm not making any money off these, only being reimbursed for time, paypal fees and shipping. Me and Eric do a lot of trade out, and this puts him owing me a favor or two.
I tried to call Kent to see if he is OK with this, but no one answered.
Kent, if you have any problem with this send me a PM.
Other wise I will tell Eric to schedule water jet and mill time.
So far docwyte and Porschedoc have expressed interest, anyone else?

Re: Ford Hydroboost to Porsche 951 Master Cylinder Adapter
Hey guys,
Talked with Philip today, have known each other for a while being here in Dallas. Instead of him having to manage each order and stuff, I offered to host the parts on TPC, same price, same deal. TPC can be the storefront for him and his buddy Eric and I can handle the shipping and PayPal orders. Plus I get to add a new part to the web site. Win Win.
To make this work for Philip and Eric to invest their time and money to put this together, we are asking for a minimum of 5 committed orders. To commit we are requiring a 50% deposit, fully refundable if the product does not ship.
To put down the deposit, please email me your request and I will send a PayPal invoice for the Deposit. I will keep you posted on the number of deposits we have towards our goal of 5.

So this is a new master to replace the Ford Unit with the Porsche Unit? Or is it an adapter?
