HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Volvo 850/S70 fans (Like Taurus fan)
You may have heard of the venerable Ford Taurus fan, the monster of the electric fan world.
I was looking into one of those for my 944 but it is too big for the NA or Turbo radiators...so a smaller fan is in order.
Enter the Volvo 850/S70 fans, these are basically the same fan but slightly smaller diameter. The Taurus is ~16.5" fan diameter and these are about 15", just enough to fit onto a 951 radiator. The Volvo fans use the same motor as the Taurus fan (makes sense, as Volvo was under Ford at this time).
What is even better about the Volvo fans is that they have their own round "fan cage" which is separate from the fan shroud, which makes custom shrouds a breeze to fabricate.
I have two such Volvo fans in good working condition, as well as the snazzy Volvo fan relay packs to go with them. If you do some googling on these fans you will see why these Volvos are so popular as alternative to the Taurus.
I have a spare Taurus fan motor as well, which again, is the same motor used on the Volvo fans.
I even have a "rough" fiberglass fan shroud made to fit the Volvo fan, with some more finishing it will fit the 944 radiator.
Prices, looking to get back what I have in them:
Volvo fan $50 EA
Volvo fan relay pack $20 EA
Taurus/Volvo fan motor $15
FG fan shroud $30, or free if you take everything else.
Pictures available via email upon request.
