When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Volvo B52X4?
Anybody thought about this at all? There's a fair number of them at the yards, and they are apparently good for some serious power and they sound excellent. They are a straight-5 engine ranging from 2.3-2.5L and sound similar to a 2JZ motor. They are pretty short engines as well and should fit nicely into a 944 bay. Any thoughts?

IMO, it seems like a lot of work to swap a 2.3-2.5L in place of a 2.5L. There have been some AUDI 5 cyl. swaps. But why do it unless you are getting some significant power increase?

Part of the beauty of the LS/LT swaps is that you are replacing the engine with something that you can get performance out of easily, replacement parts are inexpensive and at every podunk parts shop, and you doubling the displacement, so the power is effortless. I wouldn't do the swap if I was still going to be ringing the neck of some different 2.5.

Re: Volvo B52X4?
stepping back from the american mind set . i was never into US built cars at all untill i did my 948 build and now i'm on my 2nd build . with that said ! the vovlo motors is a real good motors you can build the hell out of them and there are alot of aftermarket goodys to get for them . people are building the 850R motors to big HP and tork numbers ( 500 plus ) for every day drivers . i have some friends and customers that are getting FWHP at 450 to 525 . just look what the S60 using the same motor as the 850R did in the world challenge series . now for the flip side are volvo parts cheap ? NO !! would i want to swap in a volvo motor ? NO !
