For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Rear battery mount
Does anyone have pictures of their battery mounted in the rear of their car? Will it fit completely down in the well area?

No pics, but I have mine in the spare tire well in the middle of the car. It fits all the way down in the well. I have to use 0 gauge wire since when the motor is hot (And everything in the motor is tight) it bog's.

The carpet covers it,but it is just a bit high. I plan to make a small cover for it and trim the factory carpet and cover the cover There will be a couple of inches difference between the car floor and the top of the battery.
As far as weight , I don't know. not a consideration on this it was a mater of needed the battery box space.

Re: Rear battery mount
I also mounted my battery in that passenger side rear well. I bought a smaller lighter battery for mine though and instead of a metal bracket like the one above (looks a little heavy) I made a wooden one with a thin piece of plywood with angle cut 2 by 4 to make it sit nicely. Then I use one of those old school black rubber bungie cords to hold the battery against the side of the well. My carpet sits down just about pefect on top of the battery.
I ran 0 gauge wire as well if I recall correctly. I haven't had any starting issues or anything even in cold weather. When I say cold I only mean down into the teens.
