HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

LS Engine Install Question
Hey Guys,
Getting ready to do some test fitments of my L76 to check:
1. Pilot Bearing Engagement (without clutch installed)
2. Throwout bearing engagement/clearance (with clutch installed)
I currently have the transaxle installed. I am planning on test fitting without any accessories on the engine, and the bellhousing already bolted to the torque tube.
Is it possible to install with the transaxle already mounted? or is it necessary to drop to get the driveshaft alignment?
Appreciate any tips/advice.
Thanks,
Reed

Re: LS Engine Install Question
You can do all of the checks with the transaxle installed. The clutch needs to be centered really well to get it to slip together for final assembly. If you have to, you will have to remove the transaxle to adjust the depth of the input shaft because you will have to slide it forward or backward in the torque tube housing. You can tap the shaft with a dead blow hammer to move it. You might have to modify the notch in the torque tube shaft to make the coupler align with the transaxle if you needed to move the shaft in the torque tube.

Re: LS Engine Install Question
Thanks gwistrup. All makes sense, hoping I don't have to adjust the torque tube shaft but we will see.
