HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Who uses Mustang MC with Hydroboost in 944 ?
I'm using the Mustang MC with Hydroboost in my 944 LS1 swap. I just wondering who uses the same setup, and what's the feedback.
For me the brakes feel fine. My car is a daily driver.
Cheers

im using stang hboost with its master and a BIAS valve ajustable one from wildwood. The fittings are close to the Exhaust headers so i wouldnt recommend track heat

As a daily driver you will be okay, as long as you don't have to get into a panic stop. The Mustang master cylinder is bias'd more to the rear than the 944 master cylinder. You would lock up the rear brakes in a sudden stop, which could cause a spin out. I always use the TPC adapter and mount the 944 MC.

So what about tracking an LS swap 944? I currently have a BMW hydroboost setup and I've set it up to work well, but I'm frustrated with the overflow of the PS reservoir. Obviously with the Mustang hydroboost that isn't an issue, but will it perform as well on the track?

What power steering pump are you using? Only time I had overflow was with the stock pump. Went to the turn one pump and never overflowed again. And that was on the mustang hydroboost.

I use a Mustang master and a proportioning valve (can't remember for sure right now, but I believe it's a Wilwood). I autocross the car and had to turn the rear brakes down a fair amount, but haven't had any issue with the rears locking up first since the first year I had that setup.

I track mine with a Mustang Hyrdroboost, 951 Master, Turn One Pump, fluid cooler and manual steering. That setup hasn't casued me an issue, and honestly braking feels really close to how it did before the swap.

Re: Who uses Mustang MC with Hydroboost in 944 ?
personally i hated it.
i did one track event and they totally sucked they worked OK but just OK in the street.
the next day after my 1st track event i ordered a dual master peddle assembly with in car brake bias adjuster.
i use the rennbay front calipers kit with both setups and they work far better with the dual master setup too.
i think i spent about 700$ for the wilwood hydroboost and it was a total waste of my money.
even if i spent half that for me it would be a waste of money i hated it that much.
just one of the things i didn't like was the big differences between lower speed braking and high speed braking. i couldn't ever get it do do both and be happy doing it. the peddle feel was also nothing great it was ok but sure in hell not good for tracking the car.
braking systems is not one place to compromise on even for street uses.
