For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

What's a good price for a used 1999-2004 Mustang GT Hydroboost. Looking for a complete setup; hydroboost, m/c, and lines/fittings?

Well for reference, i bought a brand new Motorcraft Hydroboost unit and new Raybestos master cylinder from RockAuto back in 2012. Both were new, not rebuilt units.

Hydroboost - $230
Master Cylinder - $107

I picked up the aluminum 'block' that bolts on the side of the hydroboost unit which houses the return to reservoir and supply to rack for $20 at a local junk yard.

The hydroboost supply, and supply to the rack fittings can all be converted to AN to make plumbing easier. Both fittings were available on Jegs.

Thanks guys...I work for a Ford dealer and was going to see what it would cost for new parts if they can get them.

Techno Duck, do you have the parts/#'s for the lines you made...thinking I'd rather build than re-use/modify the old Mustang lines.

RS Technic, so Turn One will modify their pump for PB only? I have manual steering a really enjoy it.

Thanks again

You just need two fittings, the hydroboost supply and hydroboost supply to the rack...

Hydroboost supply
18x1.5mm o-ring to -6AN
RUS-648080

Hydroboost supply to rack
16x1.5mm o-ring to -6AN
RUS-648060

All fittings are from Russel and are available on Jegs or Summit.

I see your running manual steering, are you planning on keeping it manual and just running the PS pump for the hydroboost? Any idea how you will run the high pressure out from the hydroboost? Normally it connects to the rack, but in your case it will be going directly back to the reservoir. I am just curious if its okay to run the high pressure line back to the reservoir. You would have to 'T' it with the low pressure return from the hydroboost also.

Yes they will.
Apparently they will modify it for the PS, which is more then sufficient to run the HB also.
You can keep the manual and have the option to switch to PS in the future if you choose.
Just shoot them and email or give them a call.
Also keep in mind that if you actually order it on a Wednesday you will receive 10% off.
They call it "Pump Day".
Yeah...no kidding  Very Happy

This info was posted somewhere else on the board, but for the high pressure out you just tee it in with the return line and call it a day. I have been running this setup with manual steering for close to 10k miles now and it works perfectly. I'm also using the GTO PS pump and no cooler, the turn-one pump is a waste of money IMO.

If you are only using the PS pump for HB, I agree, the stock pump will work. However, if you plan to use PS also, it will not.
The Turn one pump corrects the pressure difference needed for the Porsche rack and it does run much cooler than stock. Cool enough that a cooler is not required when running both the HB & PS.
My engine came from a Corvette. The stock pump is not compatible with the F-body drive. The Turn One pump was an excellent choice for future options.

Right, but he said he's using manual steering. You can probably find a good F-body or GTO pump for $70, compared to $300+ for the turn one with the shiny pulley.

Honestly i think the only thing special about the Turn 1 pump (other than the pulley) is the orifice on the discharge side to restrict flow.

I contacted turn one and they said they could modify my GTO power steering pump to put out the needed pressure. I don't remember exactly what the PSI number was to run the steering and hydroboosted brakes. The total cost was around $75.

Did you get your setup working? I'm about to pull the trigger on the hydroboost system. I'm sick and tired o having to put my foot through the firewall (push like hell) to get my car to stop on track.
