Holley intake, vacuum pump and cross member spacer

Ok, I purchased the Holley EFI sniper 102mm intake. From what I've gathered, the cross member spacers are to help the intake clear the hood, correct? I went with this one because it'll be good for my 7k power band, as well as almost 2" shorter than stock!! By the time intake, TB, and fuel rails are purchased, I'm at $800 vs the $1,300 for the Fast LSX. So do I need the spacers still?

EDIT: Added to main title. Also curious on the hydroboost system. I work at GMC, and I'm wondering why no one uses the electric vacuum pump vs a hydroboost. The Camaro, CTS-V, and Corvette all run an electric vacuum pump. Its less parts to deal with, and I think it will aid in better clearance.

the primary reason for the spacers is hood clearance, however ive also heard of clearance issues around the master cylinder or hydroboost that the spacers also take care of.

The spacers are mostly for throttle body clearance. Even with the spacers, I still had to cut some off my throttle body and notch the hood support....

Ok, so the spacers are 1/2". Since this intake is 1.8" shorter, than I should be good to go, and also wont have the bump steer spacers problems. Right?

The clearance on the stock intake isn't the problem. It's the throttle body that hits. So just because that Holley intake is shorter doesn't mean you won't have clearance issues....

hydroboost isnt used because the ls engines down produce enough vacuum, its used because there is no room in the engine bay for a vacuum booster with a v8 swap. hydroboost is significantly smaller.

Not trying to start an argument or anything, but this intake is 1.875" shorter than Holley's normal sniper intake. It's still about 1" taller than a stock LS intake.

Having the spacers in isn't a bad thing. It drops the motor that much more which helps handling because the weight is lower. This is a spot you don't want to reinvent the wheel on.
