HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

944 Billet-Polyurethane Transmission Mounts....PM for Details
A true Polyurethane based transmission mount. I mulled over the design for a while to make it exceedingly strong and with inexpensive replaceable Polyurethane Bushings. Uses Prothane Brand bushings part# 19-427 ..........60A Polyurethane for the best longevity and performance. Get solid mount shifter feel without the harsh vibrations/resonance that a solid mount transmits.... $206 Shipped Priority to the US-48

Design Uses Shoulder bolts that are 100% isolated from the Baseplate.....
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
and Toplocker Nuts that won't vibrate out......

Just drill your 85.5-up Tranny hanger to mount bolt holes 3/8" and install new Bracket hanger bolts that will also be included since I designed the billet hanger to mount plate 3x the Thickness of the old factory alloy hanger....

Easy install
Remove Hanger for ease of installation.
****NOTE*****
When Tightening down, Make sure the Top-Locker nut bottoms out on the shoulder bolt edge. The inner diameter of the Zinc washer should ride on the Shoulder bolt outer diameter for correct installation and ensure longer Poly bushing life.....

Back on track
Got delayed on this project, but back in the saddle.......
V8-944 specific....
I reprogrammed one of the milling steps to bring the hanger interface 5/8" further aft so the V8 can be installed as far back as possible near firewall without having to slot the tranny hanger.....

Re: 944 Billet-Polyurethane Transmission Mounts....PM for Details
I want one! I've actually got the v8 with my rh kit "shimmed" as far up front as a I can, but tranny is still a few mm to far back, Ive got a solid billet alu mount from before, but after loosing a transmission bolt that was loctite in placed Im thinking its not that cool.
got any idea on how much movement you can get in theese? few mm? anyway, way better than what I got, sign me up

A solid mount is the worst idea as there is almost no adjustment front to back unless you slot the rear tranny hanger. With this mount and a Corvette C5 bellhousing and 0.60" TT adapter plate, you can have the rear driver's side head set ANYWHERE from 0.5" to 1.25" from the firewall/brake plate without any stress or binding/bending of the steel tranny hanger. Also no worry or breaking the cast aluminum intermediate hanger that bolts directly to the late tranny.

Is the rh kit you're referring to a C5 Bh and .6" adapter plate?
And what do you mean you "shimmed it as far up front"?

Re: 944 Billet-Polyurethane Transmission Mounts....PM for Details
I have no idea what RH uses in their kit
to move the engine fw/back there is 2 shims each aprox 1-1,5mm, so with this you can move the engine aprox +- 2.5-3mm off center fw/back from where it stands.
the shims are placed on the bolt going from uprights to engine mounts.

O.K. I understand.
I haven't seen RH uprights,TPC (same as swap manual uprights) can have the front face of the upright (where it bolts thru isolator) cut off by as much as 1/2- 5/8" and the engine moved back that far, either for LT/SBC or LS application....OR....the LS engine set back plates can be slotted forward or redrilled to get the engine as far back as possible....either way

Robert, the shims are the same in the RH kit, just some washers you place on the bolt going through the mounts on the engine as you are describing.
As far as I know I have not seen a trans mount from RH, or atleast it was not there when I bought my kit.

Re: 944 Billet-Polyurethane Transmission Mounts....PM for Details
No. I see his situation. Any of the uprights can be trimmed to allow the motor to set back further without redrilling the LS setback plates....I have plenty of room now between the 2312 headers and the steering shaft, also it helps with throttle body-to-hood clearance and more clearance between the accessories and stock fan location and headlight mechanism if it is retained....

Re: 944 Billet-Polyurethane Transmission Mounts....PM for Details
I have a run of the V8 swap specific transmission mounts done for the late transmission (86-up) hangers.......Lets you get minimum firewall-to-engine clearance and your 90 degree intake boot will clear the hood latch mechanism by another 5/8" and even more Throttle body-to-hood clearance.... Same price ($206) as the 944-Billet trans mounts with all hardware and polyurethane isolators......Just PM

And 40 grams lighter than the factory mount for the techies....

Re: 944 Billet-Polyurethane Transmission Mounts....PM for Details
I haven't forgot about the Early trans owners. Since I'm finished with my swap I can get back to some R&D on a few things. I am ordering bolts for the billet-poly mounts for the Early trans swap and will post pics soon.
I need to know what size, M8 x 1.25 or M10 x 1.5 and their lengths if anyone knows?

Re: 944 Billet-Polyurethane Transmission Mounts....PM for Details
I need to know that bolt dimension for sure as I'm ordering new ones in 60 or 80mm lenght for my mounts and they don't refund the special order bolts. I can't continue to the next milling step for the polyurethane insertion depth until I know that bolt pitch 100%.....Anyone?

Nuke Proof Early Mounts are DONE.....
Just like the Late style T-6061 T6 billet alloy mounts with Larger 60A polyurethane isolators. Inexpensive Prothane replacement part #19-426 (Pk/4). The intermediate metal brakets that these bolt to can be drilled/slotted rearwards for the V8 swap to move rearwards so these have factory dimensions/positioning when installed. I have to price these $10 more than the late mount for the billet I had to burn through to get this design. The stress calculations show you could add the weight of 15 transaxles if you wanted
Eack kit comes with all hardware and USPS Priority shipping in the LOWER 48 for $216.............XSchop

So are you saying you would need the V8 mount that sets the engine back or do you need the regular one because your trans X-member has been slotted?
