HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

I've got my braking system all plumbed in, new flex lines, new hard lines, pedal hooked up etc and ready to connect the reservoirs. Running a dual master manual system w/ Wilwood cable bias adjuster.

I have a Tilton triple-chamber reservoir that I'm planning to mount on the center firewall (engine side) right in front of the heater box. I've notice that my preferred mounting location has the reservoir outlets lower than the inlets on the master cylinders. So I have two questions:

1. Will that work? Does the system supply fluid to the MC solely by gravity, or by suction? Seems to me that for bleeding, the bleeders will still be well below the reservoirs and it should still work...

2. If I need to raise up the reservoirs, how much clearance is there from the top of the firewall to the bottom of the hood? How much above the firewall can the reservoir tops extend?

Thanks.

I use the same thing. Mine is centered directly behind the intake manifold.

Are your reservoir outlets below the MC's? No issues with that setup? If so, that's good news for me.

you shouldnt have any issue as long as the fluid level in the reservoir is the highest point in the system.

I have been DD the car for 5 years, no problems yet. The only time I get air in the MC is when the brake fluid gets old and starts boiling from the exhaust close the the bottom MC. If the fluid stays fresh, no problems.

Excellent. Thanks for the confirmation. I can go ahead with my planned mount point then.
