The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Is this normal?
The workshop carrying out my LS1 Conversion said they had to do this to the spare wheel well to make the transmission fit (due to the positioning of the engine). The car is a 91 944S2, Right hand Drive. Any input is appreciated.

Re: Is this normal?
The back of my block is about a half an inch from the firewall and I did not have to modify the spare tire well.

Re: Is this normal?
I'd never seen this mentioned before so thought it seemed odd. Thanks for the responses so far.
Any ideas as to why this may have been necessary? a cause for concern?

Re: Is this normal?
Only things i can think of are that they possibly put the engine mounts (uprights) on backwards, or maybe they have the engine mount plates that bolt to the block on the wrong bolt holes.
This is all assuming everything is bolted up correctly, if there is a big gap between anything make sure the input shaft on the torque tube didnt get pushed back.
What bell housing are you using? C5 vette?

Thanks for the reply, the bell housing is C5 vette as supplied by TPC....
They did say everything was bolted up correctly, so perhaps it is the engine mounts.
These pictures should help re: engine mounts

Re: Is this normal?
Hmm, it looks to me the uprights might be on the wrong side which would cause the engine to sit too far back like the problem you have. Maybe its just perspective but compare the angle of my uprights in these pictures

Re: Is this normal?
Thanks for the photos Simon. We've reached a resolution on this now and progress will continue on the car. Looking forward to getting the car back on the road.
