HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

83 944 4.8 complete conversion for sale

Post  map21 on Wed Apr 30, 2014 3:24 pm

Hi Guys,

I've decided to sell my 83 944 with a GM lr4 4.8 completed conversion. Its a weekly driver I've got 9k plus miles on the conversion. It simply gets the job done makes some great noise, turns heads and always has power on tap to show off. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
This is a whole package no piecing things together. You can get in and drive away or customize it to your likes or just swap all the parts into a more mint body.
A 968 has caught my eye and I'm eager to purchase it and get started on a that swap. Ill actually be doing the work myself on this one vs having a shop do it. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] thats my build thread on this car and here are some pictures of it now. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

What the car has installed:
2003 GM 4.8 lr4 motor. Pulled from a 03 tahoe. I bought the entire vehicle from an auction, tested and drove it before pulling the swap.
LS1 Intake Manifold
DBW Pedal and Throttle Body
Hooker 2312 headers Modified
3in exhaust
Cadillac CTS-V drive accessories. Alternator, water pump, and harmonic balancer.
1/2 Cross member spacers
TPC Oil pan, wiring harness, and pilot bearing
C5 2 piece bell housing TPC adaptor kit, motor mounts etc, etc.
87 951 Turbo transmission non lsd
xschop's 2 pc early solid transmission mounts
Aerocatch hood latches
Racers Edge Camber plates
87 hub spindles and struts
Speed density pcm tune
Factory Non Power steering car
Battery relocated to spare tire well

The car does not actually need anything. It's registered here in NC and has passed inspection each year. I drive it a few times a week and have put just over 9 thousand miles on the swap but I do have a want or suggestion list.

VSS Kit
Return to MAF tune vs speed density (I have the MAF sensor)
Change front wheel bearings.
Paint Job (this isn't a show car its a driver, I saved it from a long slow death in a field.)
Driver rear quarter dings ( Quoted 300 to repair it )
The interior is complete but I have 2 different carpet colors installed. Ill include a ebay carpet kit also that I haven't installed.

$6000.00 with 16 phone dials
If you want the cup 2 wheels, and Xschop 330 mm big brake kit with wilwood calipers
$7200.00

The car is being offered here first. I think it is priced to move, and reflects no profiteering but approximately what I have spent in parts.

Extra items available

800 obo
Complete turbo front/rear end swap. Header panel,  bumper reinforcer, head light buckets, r/l fenders, and bumper. Also the rear air diffusers. All in Black

Make an offer
Xschop 330 mm big brake kit with wilwood calipers

300 obo
xschop truck accessory mount kit with march performance pulley and water jacket spacers to use factory porsche PS pump and all truck engine accessories.

150
LS1 Intake manifold

Interested in your Wilwood kit, and if the wheels are 9" wide, the wheels, too. Since you are asking for offers:
$600 for the Wilwood kit, and $1200 for the kit and tires. This is the differential you are asking for ($7,200 - $1,200)

The wilwood kit is available immediately. I can package it up and quote you shipping if you send you zipcode. The cup 2 wheels are 9 in the rear and 7 1/2 in the front.  255/40 and 225/ 45. Just let me know. Thanks Matt.

Sold the car on Saturday for asking price. The hesitation turned out to be plugs with the wrong gap and the shake was a bent wheel.

Any chance you still have the f/r turbo bumper conversion parts? If so I'd like to take them off your hands. Thanks.

That's great. I'll be traveling until the 26th, but I'll check out the pictures and get with you when I get back. Looks like your only a few hours away. I can probably come pick up the parts. Look forward to hearing back.

Complete Turbo Body Parts

Post  map21 on Sun Jun 14, 2015 12:22 pm

So I still have a few leftover parts from my original swap. I've decided to keep my current 944 in its original NA appearance. So up for grabs again is all of this. All authentic Turbo body panels in black.

pics here:   [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Turbo Fenders on ebay are between 250 and 300. Mine are 225 each 550 for the set.

Turbo Head lamp covers are 50 each for the entire bucket and assembly. 100  for the set

Turbo Header panel is 150

Turbo front bumper is 150 by it self and 100 for the shocks and brace bar. 250 for the set
I actually also have a second red turbo bumper available

Rear spoiler/ diffuser is 200

$1150 total so $1000 for forum members for it all. Shipping is entirely on you. If you are within a few hours drive of Charlotte NC we can likely meet halfway. Or I can pack it for freight shipping.
