After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Electric brakes vs. Hydroboost
I'm not familiar with either system, but which is the better solution? Where is the best place to research both systems?

Both work equally well, do a search or just browse the brake section. There is more information on hydro-boost than electric, mainly due to there are many OEMs that have hydro-boost systems, so they tend to be less expensive.

I would skip the electric. I have one on my car and its just ridiculous. A lot of sending parts back to ABS Power Brakes for rebuild... Both my motor and my master now... UGH...

Does the pump run and just not pump? Or is it just dead?

Re: Electric brakes vs. Hydroboost
Do you know what they are doing to rebuild it? I took one apart and there isn't much to it... I'm wondering if there is another place that can rebuild them.... I'm currently having the same issue. So I'm either going to scrap it and do a pedal box, or I'm going to try to fix this setup one more time.
This motor has to be out of another vehicle. I'd like to find out which so I can just try to have it bought from rock auto. I'd rather not give them any business at all.

I have no idea what they are doing to it. If it wasn't for the initial cost I'd scrap it and go hydro, but dang, I have $1000+ into it.

Re: Electric brakes vs. Hydroboost
okay, I have found some new information. These pumps are actually hydraulic abs pumps. Looking like they were made for jags and or range rovers... Now we just need to find a better company to rebuild them...

Yeah... I'm hearing they are made for a Lexus though... But now that I'm looking at it that could be for the mustang system.

This explains a lot. I never heard of many electric, but only two to four. No complaints until above.
