HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Flasher relay buzzing
My early 944 was an electrical disaster when I started driving it. It sat for years in the weather and corrosion in the connections caused me headaches daily. So I decided to re wire the car using a universal fuse block. Using the diagrams on pelican parts I was able to make everything work properly and consistently. I have 1 issue that I can not figure out.
The relay buzzes anytime the key is in the ignition (accessory and run positions). The flasher switch has constant 12v, and the turn signals are powered when in the run position. Both the flashers and turn signals work properly, and when it is flashing the buzzing stops.
I have tried another relay, and I have double checked my wiring to verify it is exactly like the factories. Something obvious has to be wrong.
Any thoughts or ideas?

Does it sound like a key left in ignition buzzer? Or just a rapid relay click?

It stays buzzing like the door is open or the seat belt needs buckled.

Almost sounds like you have the wrong relay in the turn signals

Re: Flasher relay buzzing
Bringing this back from the dead.
Started back on it and finally figured out the problem, the signal indicator. Not sure exactly what is causing it, but when I disconnect it the buzzing stops. I think I am going to put a socket in it that is wired separately.
Maybe this may help someone in the future.
