HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Does this mod work on the 85.5 and later Tachs?

Re: Tach Resistor Mod
Hey XS, it's my understanding that the LS computers already give off a 4cyl tach signal so you shouldn't need to modify anything. You should be able to splice into the connector by the DME that goes to the dash for tach signal a d run it right to the PCM.

Re: Tach Resistor Mod
That statement is an urban myth, at least with the 5.3l truck pcm....or my engine can do 12,000 RPM.
I want to do the mod so I can say that I have done it all when it comes to a sleeper swap. Other than the 2 digital gauges in the console spot, I want a factory clean look everywhere else. No Big tachs on the dash here...that's more "mullet" than sticking in the V8.
Smoked a Rustang going to pick up milk earlier....Second gear launches aren't too bad, the 5.3 pulls it like nuthin'

Re: Tach Resistor Mod
You can leave the tach alone and use as many coil signals as you need to fire the tach. Mine is a wasted spark so I used 2 coil inputs into the tach to equate the 4 firing pulses I need. I don't know what the LS computer gives off however this is another option for making the tach read properly without having to buy a $90.00 box or taking your dash apart, Just need some diodes!
