For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Replacement Lug Nuts
Hi folks. Just looking for a recommendation on lug nut replacements.
I managed to break the cap off a couple units when I installed new axles, not to mention all the originals look like they've been through a war!
Porsche Anodized Aluminum - New Porshe units go for $250-300 per set of 20.
Aftermarket Anodized Aluminum - On Ebay I found some USA made aircraft quality anodized aluminum non-Porsche replacements that go for about $65 for 20. (I'm liking these since I'm not building a concours car.)

Similar aluminum units go for $100 - 150 for 20.
Carbon Steel- Replacement units go as low a $1.69 each and can be had in chrome and just about every color.
Titanium - Replacement units go for $100-200 per set of 20.
I'm curious to see what you all have experienced. Thanks for your input!!

Re: Replacement Lug Nuts
Porsche brand lugnuts are actually magnesium. Hence the high price.
Aftermarket aluminum are perfect replacements.
I refuse to use chrome plated.
You'll hate the titanium, due to the specific lubricant and cleaning required to keep them from seizing on the threads.
