Selling 116
I am selling 116 and the open trailer.
This is an '86 951 that is a track dedicated, non-street legal car.
Pictures can be found here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Track videos here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I converted the car in '07 to a 2002 LS1 that had 36k. The engine was tuned by John Behe and runs on 93 octane pump gas. Tranny was completely rebuild by Charlie Murphy @ Intersport in McLean Virginia 4 years ago with no problems to date. I installed the higher 5th gear from a 944.
The engine is stock except for 1.8 ratio roller rocker arms and the custom headers that were needed for clearance.
As far are systems are concerned:
Transmission
- 951 box rebuilt as stated above
- Quaife torque biasing differential
- Short shift linkage kit
- Differential cooler with dash switch
- Extra non LS 951 tranny for parts and case
- McLeod racing clutch for 600+ hp and Ram competition racing pressure plate
- Remote bleeder for clutch slave (no need to get under car to bleed clutch system)
- Separate Clutch hydraulic circuit with reservoir
- Torque Tube rebuilt in '08 with 5 bearing carriers and ceramic ball bearings and delrin collars
- Extra OE shifter
- Kolken Billet short shifter
Suspension/Brakes
- Firehawk (Bilstein) adjustable coil overs front and rear (450/550)
- '87 off set front hubs and a-arms
- A-arms are High Strung & use early 944 ball joints that can be replaced without effecting alignment. Rod ends are used to mount to body, no play at any point.
- Weltmeister adjustable sway bars front and rear
- Front has GT3 6 piston calipers w/Cayenne/GT3 350mmx34mm rotors
- Rear has stock '86 951 calipers and rotors
- BMW 740il master cylinder
- Custom firewall brace for master cylinder (see pictures)
- Adjustable brake bias valve on dash
- Ground Control Camber Plates and Strut brace.
- Elephant Racing rear poly-bronze spring plate bushings with grease zerks
- Delrin rear control arm bushings
- All rear suspension mounts are the solid aluminum type
- Steering converted to manual rack and tie rods
- Brakes converted to manual

Great looking car and nice conversion. Sorry we won't get to run at WG together
Just curious, do you know what the car weighs?

Re: Selling 116
MP,
At this rate we might be able to run at WG if the car is still around this September.
Car weighs 2700 with 1/2 tank of gas.
Shoot me a PM if you are heading to WG any time in the next few months and I'll see what I can do.
