For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

WANTED! Brey Krause R-1020 Harness Guide Bar
If someone has a harness bar they are no longer using or are willing to part with (you have wanted to upgrade to a full cage haven't you?) please let me know.
Thanks.
Thanks.

do yourself a favor and skip a harness bar. Get a real rollbar instead, along with proper seats an harnesses...

Re: WANTED! Brey Krause R-1020 Harness Guide Bar
I already have MOMO seats and Schroth harness. My plan was to completely remove the stock 3 points and just use the harness, using the bar as a better mount point and adding a little stiffening to the frame without having to drill, weld and such.
I click into a harness very often being in the aviation profession. I am going to use inertia locking reels to get some fore/aft freedom at the shoulders.
Is the bar ineffective, or worse, not a safety improvement?
Keep in mind I don't plan on racing, just DE events.
The car will be driven.

Harness bars are a complete waste of time and money. They add nothing to the safety of your car and arguably make things worse.
If you have fixed back seats and harnesses (5 or 6 point, not 4 point, right?) you want/need a true rollbar to make everything work in concert and protect you properly.

If this is going to be mostly for street, starting with a bolt in harness bar makes sense to me.RS Technic wrote:Keep in mind I don't plan on racing, just DE events.

Else, weld the doors shut while you're at it and just use the windows.
