Spec Clutch Package

I just wanted to post up the Spec Clutch setup I received today from Eric.

I ordered the Aluminum Flywheel, Aluminum Pressure Plate, and the Stage 2 Kevlar Clutch.

I got the units weighed today. According to my scale it turns out that the Spec weighs in at a total of 33lbs not the 34lbs recently stated.

Spec weights: all weights are roughly +/- .3 lbs on this scale
Total 33.0 lbs
Pressure Plate 14.8 lbs
Kevlar Clutch 5.5 lbs
Flywheel 12.4 lbs

Stock:
Total 47.4 lbs
Pressure Plate 20.6 lbs
Clutch 4.0 lbs
Flywheel 22.5 lbs

Spec Clutch Prices

is the stage 1 pricing for just the disc? or pressure plate as well?

I'm about to order one of these - any thoughts on going with the alum flywheel and/or pressure plate vs. the steel one?

Can't decide whether I want to drop another ~$430 to get them. The car will be street driven w/ occasional track/autocross duty. I'm definitely leaning towards the Stage 1 w/ steel flywheel and pressure plate.

I got the aluminum one, but if you're not all that concerned with weight I'd get the steel one.

If you use their Stage 1 with your factory flywheel you need to take both the clutch and flywheel to a machine shop and have them balance them together...

Heh, well, it's not that I wouldn't like to shed 15 lbs, but it's more the shedding $430 that I'm concerned with right now. If it was $200, I'd probably just do it, but somehow this is hitting my (relative) pain threshold.
