The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Improved PCV system

Post  Porch on Wed Jun 08, 2011 11:39 am

I just wanted to throw a note on here. My '01 LS1 was burning oil because of the PCV system. I removed the old PCV system (thanks to an article that xschop posted) replaced it with the latest and greatest, and it's running MUCH Better!

To upgrade your system to the '04 LS6 PCV setup you need two parts:

12577927 valley cover with PCV system (was $54 at gmpartsdirect.com)
12594779 hose (was $2.37 at gmpartsdirect.com)

Definitely worth the $60 if you're dealing with oil consumption. The install does require cutting a chunk off of the block but it is nothing major. No pictures, sorry Smile
