HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Rotors
Rob, What is the difference between the Cayenne 330 rotors and the Boxster S rotors you originally specified with this upgrade?

Re: LS430 Big Brake Swap
Boxster S rotors are 318mm Dia x 28mm thick. Unless you are heavy tracking constantly or violating municiple codes, you should keep the Boxster S rotors, they are lighter and have a different centering ring.

Axles
Axles seem OK, have spun the wheels twice, checked the bolts, the locks are holding.
Your Lexus/Mazda brake set up is awesome with the Hydroboost.
Your shifter medallion looks great except it burnt me yesterday after sitting in the sun. I'm going to us an old sock when parked.

xschop wrote:Get the 87-up spindles with 76mm caliper ear spacing. I have been running the Cayenne 330 rotors on the Lexus calipers. I had to trim the axial mount interfaces on the adapters from the Boxster S setup because the Cayenne rotors set inwards by almost 2mm because of offset and rotor thickness 32mm compared to 28mm. The I just added 6mm thick washers to step the calipers out. When I get a chance I will make a run of the billet adapters soon.
That's great Rob, please let me know when you have adapters for the 76mm caliper spacing and 330mm rotors - I'll be first in line to buy a set.

Re: LS430 Big Brake Swap
Hey Rob,
I saw on Rennlist that you're selling a complete 330mm rotor & Lexus caliper BBK. I've already picked up the parts for the upgrade, but have been waiting on your next batch of radial / axial adpaters and centering rings. Would you happen to have any extras available?
I've got a set of spindles off of an '87 944S and I believe they have the 76mm ear spacing. Would this kit work with the spindles I have?
Thanks.

Re: LS430 Big Brake Swap
This is the last set I have until I can do more production in January. Only selling the entire kit as I will be designing a new Kit Using Wilwood Integra-6R's for 944,951, and Early 928's
The LS430-Cayenne is IMO the best bang-for-the buck front brake upgrade. I rode in Raymond's 951 with them on Boster-S rotors and it realy does put the M030 brakes to shame.
Carbotech makes a few upgrade pads for these calipers too

Re: LS430 Big Brake Swap
I'm definitely up for a set of adapters and rings in January. What are you selling these pieces for?

Re: LS430 Big Brake Swap
Radial adapters and centering rings $215 shipped USPS priority to US-48. And they only fit 87-up NA spindles. If you haven't seen my post, they are stronger than the 951 spindles.

Re: LS430 Big Brake Swap
Any interest in selling the kit without the discs? If you'll be building your new Integra kit around the 330mm rotor, I wouldn't mind picking up an extra set of calipers with the adapter pieces. I already have the discs and shipping the remaining kit pieces would also be less.
Let me know if this is a possibility and what your shipped price would be.
Thx Rob.

Re: LS430 Big Brake Swap
I'm building custom offset hats for mine, but I guess I could keep the rotors and mock them up too.
Paypal $500 as a "gift" to
rmott@ouhsc.edu
I'll ge the spare calipers, centering rings, radial adapters boxed tonight in a flat-rate USPS.

Re: LS430 Big Brake Swap
Cool Rob, thanks. Will the adapters have the mounting hardware for the calipers and spindles?
I'll shoot a Paypal "gift" payment over to you shortly.

Happy Holidays to you and everyone too. Get some VHT paint of your color choice. The caliper paint has held up superbly on mine.

Do you have any centering rings for Cayenne rotors and '87 hubs?

Rears?
Very interesting thread.
But what do we use on the rear? calipers and rotors from what?
I'm sorry if it's been mentioned somewhere in the last 15 pages, but it 4am here and I' m not thinking straight. I thought it would be just easier to ask.
Cheers,
Frank

Looking up through a long thread may be tiresome but there is soo much info about a lot of things that just might help you out elsewhere.
Besides it half the fun .

Thanks!
Excellent Guys. Thank you.
I am on 12 1/5 hour night shift and was writing during one of my breaks. Too difficult for me to cram everything into my small brain at 4 am
I'll search for the RX 7 info.
Cheers.

RX 7 years?
Excellent!
I found the RX7 thread and I have a couple of questions.
Exactly what year RX7 am I shopping for?
And, Is there a preferred seller to get these from?
Regards,
Frank

Re: LS430 Big Brake Swap
Thank you Fliermike45,
From memory someone asked if they were from a 83-85.5. RX7 but I don't think there was a reply.
I will look into those rotors though.
Cheers
