HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

180 crossover headers
I'm wondering what it would take to get these to fit in a 944. I love the sound of 180 headers in a ls1.

Re: 180 crossover headers
There have been a few people who have come and gone who insisted that they were going to make some for the 944v8. I'm certain it can be done, but generally i think if you have to ask what it takes, you ain't got what it takes (No offense, and feel free to prove me wrong!)
In all i think it's time that could be better spent porting cylinder heads or getting your suspension set up to put the power to the ground.

Re: 180 crossover headers
No offense taken. This would be something I would tackle next summer. I have yet to become that comfortable with a welder. I would not be doing it for the power gain, I'd be doing it for the sound. But has anyone done something like this? Any ideas where the big problems would be?

Clearance. You would lose alot of underhood space. I bet, if you had alot of bends to work with, and you get it in really tight, you could get it to work. Worth it? Probably not. Think of what would happen if you needed to take the headers out for something simple!!!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned that the time stamp was 9:44.

Re: 180 crossover headers
The 180 deg. headers are intriguing but there just isn't room for the crossovers. In any case it's not needed anyway. Read this article and you'll see if a few rules are followed there's plenty of power to be had. I couldn't find it right away but somewhere in cyberspace the Aussies fabbed an 10" long crossover and it helped in the mid to high range and the sound was F1. They started with a 5" dia tube and compressed the centre to form a dual tube open in the middle over a 10" length.
