HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

I have the trans chart of gear ratios with the final drive. I am not sure if it tells me the axle ratio.

I am looking at upgrading my cam to match the valve springs I have and it is looking for axle ratio, does anyone know what it is on a turbo trans with the early 5th gear swap?

Is the calculator asking for the total ratio, engine to wheels?
Turbo box final drive is 3.375
Turbo box 1st gear ratio is 3.5
NA Box 5th gear ratio is .7297
In 5th gear; for every one revolution of the engine you get .406 revolutions of the wheel. For the sake of comparison; in first gear you get .08465 revolutions of the wheel for every 1 revolution of the engine.

Does this help Suspect

I see the different ratios and I under stand the wheel revs per one engine rev, but how do I get a number for axle ratio? I dont know the math for it.

Final drive ratio, or axle ratio, is 3.375 for the turbo box.

Ok thats what I was figuring because the final drive is the ring and pinion gear which would be the axle. Thanks.
