For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Re: LS430 Big Brake Swap
based on the measurements of the caliper and rotor i don't see why a 16 inch wheel wont fit over the lexus calipers

Look above, at the picture of the 17's! No way you're going to clear 16's.jimbo93 wrote:based on the measurements of the caliper and rotor i don't see why a 16 inch wheel wont fit over the lexus calipers
Besides, 17's are cheap.

Re: LS430 Big Brake Swap
I got a set of the calipers and by doing a test fit a 16 wheel fits over with no problem

Can you post a pic? If this is true I would rather keep my 16s than have to buy 17s
thanks

16's and the lexus swap
They will fit IF the inner manufacturing curvature of the rim allows it. Yes please post pics of which 16" rims will work. Later I want to find a set of suitable snow rims/tires to have on hand....
BTW I have 2 sets of the Early bracket adapters left over from my Late spindle swap. I will be selling 1 set with the hubs already machined for the Boxster S rotors and cryoed Early spindles which have been drilled/reemed for the 5/8" bump-steer bolt.... PM with what you need. I have lowered the price on the EARLY adapter brackets and will include shipping on those.

Re: LS430 Big Brake Swap
I'm running them on an early car so I might need a small spacer to push out the wheel, but I'll post up pics later of it under a fuch

Re: LS430 Big Brake Swap
I still am waiting on the adapters for the calipers but here is it sitting on top of the rotor
And there is minimal clearance between the wheel and the caliper, plus i will have to run a spacer to push the wheel out a bit.

spaced out
when you install the Boxster S rotor over the hub on the EARLY setup, you get a free 5.5mm spacer

Hey Jim, looking at your nice Fuch wheel there and LS430 caliper.....is that Lexus caliper setting on the stock front rotor? I just have to ask, because the Boxster S rotor would be a larger diameter than the one based in the pic....If it is, my bad.

318 MM = ~12.5 INCHES...
Inside a 16" wheel? With THAT caliper?
"Dammit Jim...Beam me up, Scotty!"

Re: LS430 Big Brake Swap
To take that picture yes the stock rotor is on, but if im correct it should just barely fit, or i will have to carefully grind part of the caliper

Re: LS430 Big Brake Swap
Hey Jim, it just may fit with a tad more than a 1/4" clearance on the upper portion of the inner rim if that curvature is machined a certain way on th Fuch.....

Re: LS430 Big Brake Swap
hey guys its been a while since i've been here, but i have the spacers made and im happy to say that a fuch will fit over the calipers with very minimal clearance. I don't have any pictures since i need to find some reasonably priced wheel spacers, but i will try to get some as soon as i can!

Re: LS430 Big Brake Swap
Its been a while since I was here, as well..... Soooooo Hello again everyone!
Is anyone using these brakes on a daily basis yet, or has really tested them?
These are still the brakes I'm going to use, but I'd like some feedback on how they are working
Thanks!

LS 430 Big brake swap.
Is anyone making/supplying the centering rings and LS430 brake caliper adapters (shown in Greg's manual) required for the swap?

Re: LS430 Big Brake Swap
How do they feel? Good bite? Any heat issues (Have you been on them enough to get them hot)?

From thread "fade on brakes setup Q's"
Dawgz wrote:Mine fade when cold, but thats because they are Ceramic type pads and don't bite until they are hot. When at operating temp, there is never ANY fade.

Re: LS430 Big Brake Swap
So what is exactley needed to do this conversion? IM running an 88 N/A. Also any feedback with the daily drivers on how well these work over time? As well as has there been any issues with the LS 430 calipers? Also what dimensions do the new rims have to be?
