HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

What's the largest brake swap that will fit under 15" phone dials?
I'm ready to start putting together a parts list for the brake system, and after looking at a bunch of different options I still don't know which will fit under the stock 15" phone dial wheels.
I'm going to run a ford hydroboost with the 944 master cylinder adapter plate, I just need to know what I can do at the wheels, and I really like the phone dials.
Thanks in advance!

Rotors are what limits wheel selection. I don't think 15s will clear a 318mm Boxster rotor but I'm not sure, so you'll probably be limited to a 299mm diameter 951 rotor with an appropriate caliper like 951 or Wilwood.
It's also getting harder to find good tires for 15s.

951 brakes will fit under 15# phone dials that have the 951 prefix # on them as well as Willwood Superlites with same size rotors.

I used the Wilwoods, even the 6piston fits under 15in phone dials with an adaptor and the stock rotor.
However, I will comment that I went that route cause I got a sweet deal on the calipers. And I had thought about not bothering to upsize the wheels. Then I got a good deal on 17in wheels. And let me tell you that after going back to my 15's for a track day (gotta use up those tires), the wider rear tires (9in wide vs 7in) make a night and day difference in putting the power down.
So the moral of story is, before you size your brakes for your current wheels, you might want to think if bigger wheels are on the horizon, then don't limit yourself with respect to the brakes. Just my two cents.
