HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

How to make a shop ashtray!
Well....I havent posted anything custom or useful in awhile so I made something last night for yall.
Oh yeah this is a "How-To" section.
Whats needed:
-a used brake disc/rotor (I used a Jeep rotor).
-a length of tubing or whatever you got laying around (I used a length of square tubing).
-a used flexplate or flywheel (I used an old flexplate).
-an old caliper (I used one of my old 4 banger calipers from the 944!).
All of this stuff I used before throwing it out.
You can use just about anything to substitute.
Lay the flexplate on the ground and put the tubing vertically in the middle of the flexplate and weld it on. The put the rotor on top of the tubing and weld that on. Cap the hole in the middle of the rotor (my rotor had studs pressed into the rotor so I didnt have to plug those). Then paint all of it black. Then paint the rotor silver!
Then grab your caliper and paint it red! I accented mine with a liddle brush with a paint that mimics zinc and aluminum. Once its dry, weld it to the rotor. Its not functionally correct having a 944 caliper on a jeep rotor AND its upside down as it is in the pics but who cares?!!?! Its cool damnit.
Heres what comes out!

And thats it! Bleeding and anti-squeal not required!!

Of course! But no need for a toilet....you need a urinal!
Whats needed:
Urinal. Mcmaster Carr PN# 2642K95 (roughly 130 bucks)
Urinal cakes. Mcmaster Carr PN# 70285T62 (40 bucks for pack of 100)
Then, send the cakes to Greg. He will put pictures of RH on each. Then do the pee-pee dance!
FRH.
