HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Hey,

So, I'v started the prep for the summer's conversion. I was wondering if anybody could give me a rundown of what I should make sure I don't sell off of the stock engine/car. I'm assuming I should keep the same power steering pump, I'm doing an AC delete so I won't need the compressor or other parts. Other than that can I sell the whole engine setup, turbo, radiator, AC system, Accessories (minus PS pump)? Just wanted to make sure I grabbed what I needed to keep. Along those lines how much would be reasonable for a 951 engine that needs a rebuild? Cylinder 2 minor scoring from a failed connecting rod bushing, compression 150ish except for 2 which is 125. I don't know if it can be honed out or needs to be re-sleeved. Starts and runs, needs a head gasket. It would come with the worn out turbo, wiring and ECU.

Also, what is the basic strategy for getting the V8 into the engine bay? I know that you usually remove the stock motor from underneath, and I'm just following Clark's Garage instructions for that. However, I doubt you do the same for the V8. Do you pretty much have to take the whole front of the car apart to get it in there? A couple of pictures from the installation process and an explanation would be great, is there such a thing around hear?

You can look through this link

Here is a pretty much step by step, once i had the stock engine out, of my personal build.

Depending on the depth of your conversion depends on how much you need to take off of the front. But it was easiest for me to have the nose and fenders off so I could gain more wiggle room for myself when bolting up the pieces.
