'95 Roadmaster LT1, PCM, harness

So I'm slowley working on getting together all the parts that will hopefully produce an awesome end result. Since bugetary constraints are my biggest worries I've decided on an LT setup vs LS.

I've got a line on a pretty cheap LT1/pcm/harness from a '95 Buick Roadmaster.

I was wondering if there was any diffrence between the various LT1's by body style (F,Y,B,etc) that would prevent me from using this. Also, can an automatic pcm be reprogrammed to work with a manual trans. Last but not least, is there anything that would prevent me from using the harness from an auto??

I guess overall, would this setup work? or am I better off (in the big scheme of things) holding out for an engine,etc from a manual trans car...

Generally speaking the Roadmaster wiring and PCM is basically the same as the Fbody. Some transplanters Porsche prefer it as the harness is a bit longer, cant't confirm that just what i have been told.

Whoever flashes your PCM just tell them what you want. Auto to standalone manual very easy. I didnt get if you were going to run the Roadmaster engine, If you do make sure your PCM tuner knows that, as the fuel trims are quite a bit different than the fbody or Hovette heads.

Major difference in the Buick LT1's is the water pump nipples are definately in a different place than a Fbody or Hovette. Otherwise the accessory bracke just like the Fbody will need modified for hood clearence. Some of the Buicks and other non chevy LT1's had a funky monkey mechanical fand drive on the front. You can just unbolt it and the extra pulley on the crank.

Confirmed. I modified a Caprice (B-Body) harness, and there is more than enough wire to locate the PCM in the passenger footwell.

The auto-trans section of the harness is scrapped, and VSS is the only manual-trans wiring needed.
2 wires.

Another important tip:
Make sure the Orange / Black Neutral Start wire is grounded after the harness is modified.

While modifying, the remaining harness sheds 30-40+% of itself...

And the LT1 doesn't require 1/2" spacers...
