For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Sanderson headers keep cracking
The Sanderson headers on my LT1 948 keep cracking. Both sides have been welded several times before, and one has now just cracked again.
What is a better solution for one of these old LT1 engines? I'm using this car as a daily driver, and need a more reliable solution.
Thanks,
Rob

headers cracking
do you have flex joints at any point after the header?
i remember reading posts eons back when i first entered my journey on the build and then didn't do anything for a decade that having flex joints is an absolute must or you will end up having the weight of the downstream exhaust putting excessive force on the header and ultimately crack.
Not sure if already knew this and already have flex joints but if you don't i would definitely look at that first thing.

Thanks. Yes, I do have flex joints after each manifold in the Y-pipe. I've done some reading and it looks like these Sanderson headers are just cheaply made and bound to crack again and again.
I'm going to look into replacing them with some Patriot Tight Tuck headers.

Re: Sanderson headers keep cracking
I had the same issues over the years, even with flex joints. I have some long/mid tube headers for an LT swapped 944. These were made by Texas Performance Concepts at my request, some years ago. I am not using them as i have gone to an LS engine.
PM me with your mobile number and I can share some pictures. I would sell them, if you are interested.

I would be interested in these headers. I have the Sandersons and they've never really impressed me.
