HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Re: Does this give anyone Idea's?
That's a great idea, but it has the same problem as all of my ideas! That's where the headlights and headlight bar go.
I'm probably going to go the route of the nice fiberglass buckets listed on this site. I'm curious if the covers are still a work in progress, anyone know?

they will be ready by the end of the week, the buckets will have an update to them also.
Re: Does this give anyone Idea's?
Awesome!
And the price will become $300 for the buckets and the covers as a combination, right?

Headlight Bar? Whats that? It's been so long since my car has had those.

I have the GT racing buckets, I wish I knew other people were going to make them, because the GT racing buckets suck out loud (fitment). I installed HID bulbs with hi/low capability (HID on both), it's a great setup very bright.

Re: Does this give anyone Idea's?
I was mainly wondering how they looked
I'm curious whether to paint them the body color or leave them black. I'm also kinda curious how the projectors look in them. Anyways, no rush...i'm just curious how they look!

I don't have projectors. I like the way they look, but the GT-Racing ones showed too much of the actual lens. So I cut Black Vinyl and framed it and I think it looks a lot nicer now. These are all old pics before the vinyl treatment.

Re: Does this give anyone Idea's?
I agree, the GT Racing buckets are not good. I spent about 8 hours reshapimg mine. And the covers don't fit very well either. I broke one and mow am going to make my own covers. I had planned to have them done but haven't gotten that far yet. I have an oven built and started on the molds for the vacuum form but have gotten side tracked with the underside of the car.

Once I get the bugs worked out of the mechanical stuff...
My plans for the headlights are to edit the existing ones to raise up as little as possible from closed position, and use multiple small lights, in a row, that just barely peek out. If I get real enterprising, perhaps an LED row such as found in newer BMW and AUDI models.
And tuck a couple of these in place of each of the big round lights.

headlights
i have been working on my headlight problem and have came up with the idea of using 2 headlight motors to replace the normal setup wich is in the way .i personly like automatic headlight feature on the car that it came with .when complete i will post some pics and how i did it.i presently have 2 headlight motors the original and one from a donor.i have also toyed around with the idea of some small pnumatic air cylinders that i have using engine vacum.

There were some instructions on how to do do the dual-motor conversion on PHB. It's not a bad option, honestly!

Re: Does this give anyone Idea's?
I don't know if you've seen, but Deutsch Nine (i think) has a setup like that and i love the way it looks! The kit is expensive though...more expensive than just using the buckets. If you get it to work i'd like to see how it's done! I know the 240 guys do the same thing to their headlights to give it the "sleepy eyes" look.endrnet wrote:Once I get the bugs worked out of the mechanical stuff...

Re: Does this give anyone Idea's?
You might want to look at the 924 turbo headlight motor. It is made to mount on the other side. It is basically a mirror image of the one on the 944 and it mounts on the other side.
