HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

hard clutch
hello everyone,
well ive been driving the car for a while now and noticed that the clutch is hard to press down. i mean its a leg work out...lol. all seems good no leaks engage and disengaged when its supposed to, no weird noises. etc.
I'm using a mustang hydroboost with the stock power steering pump.
i just finished rebuilding anotheronw. this is an 85.5 NA but I put the turbo engine that came out during the ls swap, and the clutch is way soft on this one.
any ideas on how I can soften up the clutch on the ls swap one?
thanks

Re: hard clutch
what clutch master cylinder are you running on the ls swapped car? what clutch? are you still running the overcenter spring on the clutch pedal?

Re: hard clutch
I got the clutch master cylinder from TPC along with the clutch kit.
is the overcenter spring on the clutch pedal the one that aids it in retuning to the up position? if so, then its a yes it's still connected.

Re: hard clutch
Assuming nothing is wrong in the whole system, the pedal force required has to do with the ratio of slave cylinder volume to master cylinder volume along with the level arm of the pedal. To make it softer you either need a smaller slave cylinder or a longer pedal arm. Maybe re-drilling the clevis point on the clutch arm? Or going back to a 3/4" master, TPC's is 7/8", although on some cars 3/4" is not enough to release the clutch fully when depressed.
For what it's worth, my clutch is a monster too. But so are my un-boosted brakes!
