HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Mopar disk OK or not?
I think it's well established that the Mopar clutch disk splines, although the same diameter and count, have a different spline profile, and are a slightly looser fit on the 944 torque tube shaft. What's not clear is....Will the Mopar disk work OK? Have folks used the Mopar disk with good results?
comments??
Thanks
Gord.

Re: Mopar disk OK or not?
I've had a Mopar disk for 10 years now.... however, I haven't had a chance to see the condition of the splines on the torque tube....

Re: Mopar disk OK or not?
Here is some information on the clutch splines.
There are 2 23 spline types. 23 US (Mopar)and 23 Metric (Porsche original)
The Mopar clutch disc are what has been used for these swaps forever.
SPEC makes the 23 spline metric.
2 items on the 23 spline US clutch disc.
1. When looking for a Mopar clutch disc, try and find the tallest spline sleeve. This gives you more material on the shaft. The picture below shows a SPEC, and 2 Mopar clutch disc, you can see the difference in the height of the spline sleeve.
Tall SACHS BBD4163 mopar, SPEC Stage 1, ?Mopar low spline sleeve
2. On the flywheel side there can be a small nub around the spline hole. That needs to be removed. See the picture below.
